Confirmation is a formative milestone for youth in the church as they prepare to confess their faith in Christ before the congregation. The journey to Confirmation in the Lutheran Church is both rewarding and rigorous. Confirmation preparation is a time for young adults to grow in their understanding of God’s Word and receive faithful teaching and pastoral care.


At St. Paul's, we offer Confirmation for both students who attend our day school and those who attend other schools. Rooted in Scripture and the Lutheran Confessions, Confirmation instruction helps students explore the Six Chief Parts of Luther’s Small Catechism: the Ten Commandments, the Apostles’ Creed, the Lord’s Prayer, Holy Baptism, Confession and Absolution, the Sacrament of the Altar, and other foundational tenets of the faith.


Parents, family, and prayer partners from the congregation are encouraged to support confirmands as they prepare to make a faithful confession and remain grounded in their faith.

Confirmation Pray er Partner Ministry

Every school year, St. Paul’s coordinates a ministry of prayer on behalf of the confirmands in our congregation. This is a unique opportunity for you to include a Confirmation student in your personal prayer time as he/she prepares to profess the one true faith in Christ. 


Many prayer partners in the past have shared how this ministry has blessed them and strengthened their own prayer lives.


If you are willing to serve as a prayer partner this school year, please register above for more information.


How does it work? Each youth at St. Paul's is assigned a specific prayer partner in the final year of Confirmation study. The identities of these prayer partners are hidden until the Confirmation Examination night. That night is highly anticipated as confirmands meet the special person who has been diligently praying for them throughout their final year.
